October Favorites

October is officially history! This year has flown by and it's hard to believe it's November already. I was able to round up a few of my favorites items (excluding the Halloween candy which let's be real here, is my favorite part of October) that I've been using quite a bit this last month so here are October's favorites!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
I bought this foundation as an impulse drugstore but and I have to say, I'm quite pleased with it. It has a decent medium but buildable coverage and it's comparable to the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation. It doesn't oxidize on my skin at all and still looks smooth and even after a long day of wear. There are 16 shades to choose from which is kind of impressive for a drugstore foundation.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder
I also picked up this powder with the foundation, and they work really well together. The powder adds a touch more coverage so I go light handed with it, but it doesn't look too powdery or cakey on top of the foundation. It's very lightweight and doesn't weight the foundation down.

NYX HD Concealer
This concealer is AMAZING! It is so brightening and covers up any dark circles I have. It's very smooth and creamy and I like it better than my MAC Prolong Wear concealer. Another bonus, it doesn't crease! For the price, you really can't beat it.

Lucky Brand "Darling" Perfume
Typically in the fall, I tend to wear more spicy, amber based perfumes but for some reason I've really been loving the sweet smell of this perfume. I actually found it at Ross for $11 and I've literally been wearing it every day. The scent lasts all day and it isn't too overpowering either.

Stila Eyes Are The Window palette- "Soul"
This has been my go-to for everyday makeup looks. It's all neutrals but versatile in that you can create different looks with just this palette. It's perfect for simple every day eyes or to smoke things up. And of course, it has "Kitten" in it (a champagne shimmery shade), which I absolutely adore.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick- "Let's Get Naked"
I've never been big on Rimmel Lipsticks but this one is beautiful. It's a pinky-salmon shade perfect for everyday. It isn't too pink, not too nude and I just love it. It's been in my purse all month long. It also wears for five to six hours without feathering or wearing off patchy which is a bonus for a busy gal like me.

Nars blush- "Sin"
My favorite fall blush, Sin is amazing. I found it tucked away into blush drawer and I've been obsessed all over again. It's like finding a long lost friend! It's a dark, slightly cool berry shade perfect for fall and the lightest swipe of this leaves a perfect flush, or it's buildable for a more pronounced look.

Stud Statement Earings
Usually I stick to my basic diamond studs, but lately I've been obsessed with cute little earrings. I've bought probably about 20-25 pairs this last few weeks from Target and Kohls and they're the perfect little accessory to a simple outfit. Wearing scrubs all the time for work doesn't leave much room to accessorize, but these make it easy to feel more put together. I wore the cute spider ones on Halloween!

Triangle Cosmetic Sponges
When my Beauty Blender was savagely destroyed by a wild cat (our new kitten) I needed something to tide me over and in the depths of a bathroom drawer I found these little gems. When used damp I found that I actually prefer using them to blend out my concealer over the Beauty Blender. They are the perfect size to reach the small area around my eyes and I love the finish they give. I can't believe I forgot how much I liked using these, and they're so cheap!

Well that does it for my monthly favorites! Have you tried any of these products? What do you think about them? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to check out my other social media accounts for more tidbits!

  1. What shade do you wear in foundation? It always helps those of us forced to buy online :)
