March Ipsy Glam Bag Review
I am back with this month's Ipsy Glam Bag review! As I mentioned in a previous post, Ipsy is a beauty sample subscription service where you get 5 deluxe samples of makeup, skin care, or hair care products in a cute little makeup bag for only $10 a month. It's a good option if you are looking to try a monthly beauty subscription service and I've never really had any complaints. However, the last few months I've gotten my bags in the last week of the month instead of the beginning which is slightly irritating, but I can deal with that.
So the theme for March was #FloralFantasy. Flowers and spring are totally the inspiration with an accompanying photo shoot with the Ipsy stylists, Lustrelux, Chrisspy, Desi Perkins and Christen Dominique. The bag itself is a canvas material with a pretty pastel blue and yellow flower print with pink accents and a blue zipper. Totally cute this month! This one is definitely going in my purse.
The first product is a NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade "Hunk." I love these lipsticks and own quite a few and I'm happy to add this pretty purple shade to my collection. It is more orchid in color than the packaging suggests though.
Next up is a Boo Boo Cover-up concealer. I've never heard of this product until I saw it in another Ipsy bag months ago, but it's a pretty nice concealer. It's a little too dark and too yellow for me and it's quite thick, but boy does it cover up! This product would be perfect for covering up scars or tattoos.
Next is this Purelisse Soy Milk Cleanser. So far I've really enjoyed any skin care products I've gotten through Ipsy and this is no exception. It's a soft lathering cleanser and it's super gentle, ideal for my sensitive skin. This might be something I will purchase in the future.
I have never heard of VINTAGE Cosmetics until now, so when I saw this Illuminating Face Highlighter I didn't know what to expect. It's quite pink and not as diffused as I like my highlighters, so it doesn't look good as a highlight on me and the pan is too small for the particular brush I use for highlighting, but it's pretty as an eyeshadow for the lids or inner corner highlight.
The last item for this month was a sample tube of the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion. I really like the Pores No More Primer so I was excited to try this. It's supposed to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and keep oil at bay. I have normal to dry skin so I wasn't sure how it would do on my skin, but it left my face feeling super soft and it definitely did reduce the appearance of my pores.
This month I really enjoyed most of the products that I relieved. Overall I'd say this was a pretty good bag, and definitely worth the $10 price tag.

Tarte Showstopper Palette Preview
Calling all Tarte lovers! If you love their Rainforest After Dark Palette (which is BACK online on the Tarte website), meet it's sister, the Showstopper palette! Trendmood posted a sneak peek preview courtesy of @cyndidr85 on IG and I am loving it!
It's the same layout as the RAD palette, with six eye shadows, a bronzer, a highlighter and a full sized blush, only this one looks a bit more purple and pewter based. I love cool tones so this will definitely find a home in my collection. The packaging, like most of Tarte's products is amazing. It's a sleek gold compact with faux purple snakeskin on the front. Very pretty!
This will be available March 31st on the Tarte website, April 11th on the Ulta website, and April 17th on the Sephora website, just in time for the VIB/Rouge sale! I'm hoping it will be the same price ($38) as the After Dark palette, but I will keep you guys posted on updates and when swatches are available!

Batalash + SauceBox Cosmetics Collab
A few months back, the Batalash girls announced a collaboration they were doing with SauceBox Cosmetics for an upcoming eyeshadow palette. It was announced yesterday that the palette will be available in April! Samantha Ravndahl (@ssssamantha on IG) posted swatches and Oh. My. Goodness. They look beautiful! Bright jewel tones with gorgeous shimmers and to die for mattes. I can't get over that copper or that teal! Since the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette was sort of a bust for me (restock in February?!), this one is definitely going on my wish list.
So far no other details like a price have been announced yet but I'll keep you guys updated :) you can also follow @batalashbeauty and @sauceboxcosmetics on Instagram for more updates!
What do you guys think about these eye shadows? Is it something you'd buy?

LA Girl HD Pro Conceal- NEW Shades!
For those of you who love the LA Girl HD Pro Conceal concealers, they just announced on Instagram yesterday that they are releasing 6 new shades! The additions include two lighter shades (Light Ivory and Porcelain), a deep brown shade (Mahogany), and three shades for color correcting (Yellow Corrector, Green Corrector, and Orange Corrector). I am especially excited because two of the six will be ideal for us fair gals that love a good cream highlight. The deeper shade is said to be a good contour shade for darker skin tones and can we talk about the color correctors? Its nice to see so many brands coming out with them, and if the formula and consistency is that same as the concealer, these are sure to be a hit. Advertised to:
"-Camouflage the appearance of skin imperfections
-Even out skin tone
-Cover dark circles
-Minimize fine lines
-Provides customizable coverage"
These are available today on the LA Girl website!

Must Have e.l.f Products!
Hey everyone! So I was rifling through some of my makeup this past weekend when I realized that I have a ton of good e.l.f. products. I remember first trying out e.l.f. and thinking that they were probably going to be terrible, seems how all of their products run between $1-$6. But years of continuously rebuying has just proved to me that e.l.f. is pretty awesome.
e.l.f. is perfect for anyone just starting to experiment with makeup all the way to true junkies. And it's such an accessible brand since it's widely available. Plus, there is always some kind of awesome deal or discounts in bundle packages on the website. Here are my top ten favorite ELF products that I buy again and again. Enjoy!
1. Cream Eyeliner:
This is one of my favorite cream/gel eyeliners ever! It is super black, super opaque and it dries matte. The best part about it is that its super creamy and easy to work with. It also doesn’t flake or smear off on me which is something I look for when I try out new gel liners.
2. Mineral Infused Foundation Primer:
This is a silicone based primer, so it really fills in pores and makes the skin super smooth for foundation. My only gripe is you have to let it set for a few minutes or it can get a little slippery.
3. HD Undereye Setting Powder:
I've mentioned this before, but this stuff is amazing! It's almost identical to the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder, but it has tiny glitters in it. The glitter is easily blended away and the powder is so finely milled that it doesn't cake up and concealer doesn't crease at all.
4. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen:
This is a basic felt tip eyeliner pen but for only a few bucks, this is better than some of my high end liquid liners. The applicator makes it so easy to quickly swipe on eyeliner when you're in a rush, and it lasts all day without smudging or fading away.
5. Luscious Liquid Lipstick:
There isn't anything too special about this, I just really like how convenient it is. It's a twist up applicator so it's perfect for getting just the right amount of product out without making a mess. The wear isn't too terribly long, but the pretty shades make up for that. And it was only a dollar!
6. Eyelid Primer:
I love this stuff! It's only a dollar and it really makes my eyeshadow stick to the lid without creasing or wearing off. I would even say I like this one better than my Urban Decay Primer Potion.
7. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder:
I mentioned this in my 2014 favorites and it's still one of my favs. The bronzer is a good dupe for Nars Laguna Bronzer and the blush is very similar to Nars Orgasm for a fraction of the cost. These shades are perfect for warming up the face and giving you a peachy healthy glow.
8. Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick:
I'm a huge fan of cream eyeshadow sticks so I have quite a few of these. They're perfect for simple makeup days when I want a quick wash of color or shimmer. Or they are also a good base for other eyeshadows to layer on top.
9. Matte Lip Color in Rich Red:
If you want an affordable true red lipstick, try this one. It's in a twist up crayon form, so application is quick and clean, not easy for red lipstick, and it's matte so it doesn't slip and slide around. It lasts a good 4-5 hours on me and even after it fades it leaves a lovely cherry stain.
10. Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow:
This eyeshadow is a bouncy cream formula so application is a little tricky, but it is so pretty. It's a shimmery sheer product good for inner corner highlight or just to add some sparkle to your eye makeup.
I love all of these products. They were some of my first makeup products and I've stuck with them for a few years now. Next in my Elf wish list is their new skincare line! What are some of your favorite Elf products? Any recommendations for me?

MAC Julia Petit Collection
Today is the day that MAC releases their Julia Petit collection online! The collection includes a few eyeshadow duos ($22), three beautiful berry shades of lipsticks ($17.50), a tinted lipglass ($16.50), and my personal favorite, pretty pink Lustre Drops ($21) to name a few items. Taken from the website:
"Whether fearless and exotic or classically demure, Julia Petit’s brazen approach to style and makeup artistry has transformed her into one of South America’s most revered lifestyle bloggers, and a cult beauty icon. In her namesake M•A•C collaboration, she brings the alluring women and fantastical urban landscape of São Paulo to life with sizzling sun-kissed hues."
Personally, I am definitely going to get some things from this collection. I thought I was excited about the Cinderella and Bao Bao Wan collection, but after seeing swatches I was disappointed. But the lipsticks in this one are to DIE FOR!
Are any of you going to pick up some goodies from MAC's Julia Petit Collection?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks | Review + Swatch
If you follow me on Instagram (@livforlashes) you'd have seen back in January that I posted a picture of my order of liquid lipsticks by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I had every intention of doing a review and swatch post about them a lot sooner, but after reading a ton of conflicting reviews on them, I really wanted to take my time with wearing them and getting to know each shade that I bought to learn about the wear, the formula, etc.
Almost every IG or YouTube beauty "guru" (I loathe that term) had nothing but positive things to say, but then again, they received them for free and probably got paid to say nice things. Then on the other side of things, a lot of people said they hated them. That's why I wanted to form my own opinion on them. So I wore each shade for a few days straight so I could give you guys my most honest review possible, if you're looking into buying a few of these. There was also a bit of controversy that maybe these were repackaged products from Hot Makeup, which has the exact same shades only different names and a buck cheaper.
First off with the packaging, they come in the standard ABH black box with silver and rose gold writing. Very low-key. The tube themselves are clear plastic with a silver lid. On the top of the tube by the lid, is a gold band with the infinity symbol, and the brand name written on the side of the tube. In the bottom is a sticker with the shade name. The product does feel quite heavy and high end though, if that's such a thing.
I bought the shades Milk Shake, Pure Hollywood, Lovely, Baby Pink, Retro Coral, Carina, Persimmon, American Doll, Vamp, and Sad Girl.
The application was kind of hard with some of these. A few of the shades like Milk Shake, Vamp and Retro Coral were very streaky when I was applying them. I'd swipe a layer on, and when I'd go back to make it more opaque, it's like the first layer wiped off and made the lipstick uneven and kind of chunky. Another thing is that these are quite messy. Vamp, Lovely, Persimmon and Milk Shake had so much product on the doe foot applicator, that I had the scrape a ton off on the lip of the tube, which caused lipstick to smear all over when I closed the tube up. These shades I found were better to apply with a lip brush. Also, they don't dry very fast. I had to apply a layer, let it set for a min or two, then CAREFULLY apply another layer then let it set again. And since it does take a while to set, you can mix shades for a custom color which is fun. It took a while but once I got the application down, they looked and felt pretty nice. They weren't drying though which is awesome for a liquid matte lipstick. They did feel quite moisturizing without being sticky or making my lips feel tight and gunky. And some of the shades were just amazing, like Pure Hollywood, Carina and Sad Girl.
Once set, removal was kind of hard, expected since these are "long lasting." Makeup wipes didn't cut it, so I recommend an oil based makeup remover.
*All Swatches are one Swipe*
Milk Shake
This is the lightest in the range. It looked much more pink online but it's really almost a white with a pink base. Without lip liner, this one is a little streaky and clumps up in the corners of the mouth. It did dry more pink though thankfully. This one lasted about 5 hours before wearing off in the middle of my lips.
Pure Hollywood
This is a dusty pink shade. It sold out pretty quickly and for good reason. It's perfectly pigmented in one swipe. It dried more brown than pink, almost like KVD Lolita. It lasted almost all day with only one touch up and it didn't sink into my lip lines or flake off.
Lovely
Just as the name suggests, this is a lovely dusty rose color. It goes on really smooth with no streaks and it lasted about 6 hours before fading away. It dried to this pretty mauve-y color.
Baby Pink
This pink is a little neon but it went on pretty well, only slightly streaky when I went to touch up. It lasted a good 6-7 hours before fading away in the center of my lips. This was another one that was quite streaky during application.
Retro Coral
This is a bright salmon shade that I love. It was a little streaky at first but it was easier to apply than some of the other shades. It's a little too neon to be totally wearable for me, so this is definitely a statement lipstick, but it did tone down a bit once dry. It faded away quicker than some of the other shades, lasting about 3 hours before getting patchy.
Carina
Favorite shade here! This is a super pretty bright cool toned pink. It's a little dryer than the rest, which actually made application a little easier. It lasted literally 9 hours before wearing off. I got a ton of compliments on this one :D
Persimmon
This is an orange saturated red. It goes on smooth with no streaks, but it's definitely unforgiving if you mess up and need concealer for a touch up, as it smeared a little. This one also lasted a good 7 hours.
American Doll
This one is a true blue based red. It's so beautiful on the lips, but it's a pain to apply. It seems a little thinner in consistency so it smeared a bit. I'd definitely use a lip brush for this one. It did last about 6 hours though without getting patchy which is pretty decent.
Vamp
A red with brown undertones, this one is so unique and just beautiful on the lips. This one was hard to apply since it is one the messier ones I talked about, but once on, it looked nice. It lasted about 5 hours, but when it faded off, it left a weird lip line of color.
Sad Girl
This one is hands down my favorite out of the bunch. It's a deep purple wine shade but what makes it so unique is that even though it's matte, it has tiny skimmers throughout it making it almost metallic. This one was easy to apply and lasted about 7 hours before wearing off.
If I were to give these a rating between one and ten, I'd say they're about a 7. Once I got the application down, they really were really nice and they've become one of my favorite liquid lipsticks, next to Kat Von D. However, they are a little messy, they are expensive, the formula leaves something to be desired, but they have potential. These are $20 a piece, which is pretty steep, but I think the name is what you're essentially paying for, as I think you can find other brands with the same if not better formulas.
What do you guys think? Love them or hate them? I'd love to know since these seem to be a hit or miss with everyone. If you do like them, which shades did you get or which ones do you want?
You can find the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks on her website.
Let's keep in touch!
