UPDATE: Urban Decay Naked Smoky Sneak Peak

UPDATED!!
New pictures and shade names have been released! I love how it's a nice blend of warm and cool shades and can we talk about that purple?! The new Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette will be available July 8th!

Save your money now guys! Urban Decay founder Wende Zomnir posted a sneak peak of an upcoming Naked palette. It's called the Naked Smoky and I am so so excited! As much as I love neutrals, I feel the naked palettes were kind of played out so a smoky palette sounds absolutely awesome. Not much info is out yet but attend mood mentioned it'll be out around the holidays. I can't wait to see what shades will be included in this one. What do you guys think?

MOTD: Mermaid Blue Eyes + Purple Lips

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I thought I'd do another #motd post since a lot of people seemed to really enjoy my last one. Again, it's just my daily makeup and what products I used. Later this morning I'm going to a garden-themed baby shower and I'll be surrounded by flowers and pretty greenery so I thought I'd use a little more color. This is the look I came up with:

-NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
-NYX HD Concealer
-BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Sculpt and Glow Palette for contour
-NYX Mosaic Blush in "Rosy"
-POP Beauty bronzer
-ABH Artist Palette, shades: Dusty Rose, Blue Velvet, Unicorn, and Coal
-NYX Prismatic shadows in "Frostbite" and "Mermaid"
-Nubounsom Dragon Li 3D Mink lashes ("LivforLashes for 20% off of minks)
-Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara
-BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in "Opal"
-ABH Brow Wiz in Medium Ash
-Revlon Colorburst matte balm in "Shameless"
-MAC Fix+ to set

I wanted to stray away from my usual neutrals and do something fun. I originally used a nude lipstick but again, I wanted something different so I dug around and pulled out one of my Revlon matte balms (check out a review and swatch here). Usually I'd think teal and purple wouldn't look good together, but I kinda actually like how this turned out!

What are your plans for this beautiful Sunday?

MAC Wash and Dry | Review + Swatch

Every summer MAC comes out with a huge limited edition collection and this year it is the Wash and Dry collection. I haven't been too impressed with the LE collections MAC has been coming out with lately, but this one definitely caught my eye. The packaging alone is to die for. Everything has a beautiful metallic finish with bold colors, very summery, with jade, orange and yellow. It's been touted as one of the best MAC packaging since last summer's Alluring Aquatic collection and I'm loving it. I'm a sucker for adorable packaging and MAC hit the nail on the head with this one.  Like I said, this collection is huge with the stars of the show being four bronzes, four lipsticks, two blushes, three eyeshadow trios, a highlighting powder and four lipglasses. I really wanted the highlighter, but the shimmer is just overspray and the color of the powder just didn't sit well with me. Bummer.

I picked up a bronzer, a blush and two lipsticks so let's dive into a little review!

The first thing I got was the Studio Sculpt Defining Bronzing Powder in the shade Delicates. It's a satin finish bronzer with a cooler undertone, so perfect for adding a little summer glow without being too orange on my fair skin. It's also pretty buildable without looking muddy or patchy, so another plus. The powder is buttery smooth and light and I like that you can't really go overboard with this since it's a tad hard to pick up a bunch of product with your brush.

Next I decided to get the Powder Blush in the shade Hipness. Hipness is a re-released shade that I believe was part of the To the Beach collection a few summers ago. It's a pretty peachy pink shade with subtle gold shimmer in it and I love it. I'm all about peach cheeks in the summer so I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this. This one isn't the slightest bit powdery like a lot of MAC blushes tend to be so I'm happy about that.

I originally wanted all four lipsticks but I was able to restrain myself and get two. The first one is a lustre lipstick in the shade Tumble Dry. It's a pretty coral-orange shade and since it's a lustre finish, it isn't too bright and comes off as a soft peachy shade. It's actually quite sheer. This lipstick totally reminds me of a laid back, watered down version of Sweet and Sour. It is a little slippery so I'll definitely be using a lip liner but I can't wait to wear this out and about this summer.

The other one I got was a satin finish lipstick in the shade Steam Heat. Steam Heat is gorgeous! It's a more orange/yellow based red and it almost comes off as neon which I'm really loving. It's flirty and fun and I have a feeling I'll buy a back up because I'm already in love. It's very opaque and creamy without being too slick so a milliner may not be totally necessary with this one.

L to R: Tumble Dry, Steam Heat, Hipness, Delicates

Like I said I'm in love with this collection and I may even snag a few more items before they're all sold out. What do you think of the new Wash and Dry collection by MAC? Love it or hate it? Let me know in the comments and have a good day everyone!

May Ipsy Glam Bag Review

I'm back with another Ipsy glam bag review! This month, my bag came towards the end of the month like usual lately, so sorry if this post comes at the end of May. Any who, this month's theme was #JetSetter, so all about traveling and going on adventures.

The bag for this month is a custom Ipsy bag from the brand Breakups to Makeup, a popular online shop, and each bag had a catchy phrase on it. Mine says "Contents: My Life" with a cute little painted on lipstick tube. It's a sturdy canvas material and since it's so cute, this one is definitely going in my purse for all of the random nick nacks I throw in there.

The first item is a moisturizer by CōTZ Face. It's a lightly tinted matte finish moisturizer with an SPF of 40, so it's perfect with summer coming up. I'm excited to try this since it's supposed to be matte and we all know how products with SPF tend to be a little greasy. I'm eager to see if I can use it as a primer as well.

Next up is a tapered blending brush from Luxie Beauty. I've seen these brushes all over Instagram, so I'm excited to be able to try it before purchasing any. It's a synthetic duo fiber blending brush and it is seriously one of the softest ones I've ever felt. I tried it once already and it did an awesome job of diffusing my crease color and evenly distributing the color. It retails for $12, so this alone makes the bag worth the $10 subscription price. I also love the pink handle with the rose gold ferrule.

The next product is a brow pencil that both Desi Perkins and Chrisspy have used in YoouTube videos and it's from the brand Chella. It's a retractable pencil in the shade "Tantalizing Taupe" so it's a pretty universal shade. I use Taupe in the ABH Brow Wiz so I was happy to see that it is an exact shade match and the texture of the pencil is pretty similar as well. It's a firm pencil that isn't too waxy so it's perfect for making natural hair strokes to fill in the brows.

The next item I wasn't to thrilled about at first, but after trying these Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Patches, I actually really like them. You put them under your eyes and they are so cooling and refreshing, they're perfect for soothing puffy eyes. I put them on for about five minutes before applying my makeup and it just helped my eyes feel less heavy in the morning and more awake.

The last product is pretty exciting. It's an Urban Decay Lip Primer Pencil with two samples of the new Revolution Lipgloss in the shades Failbait and Bittersweet. The glosses can't be re-sealed so I haven't opened them yet, but I've swatched both at Ulta and I really like them. I'm also pretty stoked to try the pencil, since it's supposed to prolong wear and prevent feathering or bleeding.

With Ipsy when you review products or get referrals, they give you points that you can redeem for products, and I had some points due to expire so I redeemed them for this deluxe sample of the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil in the shade Black Velvet. I love the formula of these UD eyeliners. Plus, you can never have too many black eyeliners and this is the perfect size to throw in my travel makeup bag.

That does it for my May Ipsy Glam Bag Review! What products did you get this month?

Coastal Scents Hot Pot Sale!

Attention all makeup lovers! For one week only starting today, Coatal Scents Hot Pots are now only 99¢!! These single eye shadows are usually $1.98 so they are 50% off! They are surprisingly smooth and easy to blend considering how cheap they are, and I would even say they are comparable to MAC shadows. They do come loose in individual packaging, so I would definitely recommend investing in a zpalette if you don't have one already, which are also available on the Coastal Scents website. Now is the perfect time to stock up and there are so many colors to choose from! Maybe some bright shades for summer  or some back up of your favorite neutrals? I know I'll be picking up a ton! Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms | Review + Swatches

A couple of weeks ago I posted a picture on Instagram of the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms and I received several direct messages and comments asking for swatches and so I decided to do a review and swatch for you guys.
Revlon has had these on the market for a while now, I believe along with the glossy and stain balms but I never really paid much attention to them. I first picked up three shades, but you guys know me when I find a lip product I like: I went out and bought all ten shades.

The packaging is a convenient twist up crayon, like the Elf chubby stick balms with a matte finish. It has a silver matte detailing on the bottom and much to my delight, a secure cap, good for tossing in your makeup bag or purse. They feel quite sturdy for drugstore which is nice. The only thing I hate, which is common with drugstore lipsticks, is the only thing sealing it closed at the store is a thin piece of tape, so it took some digging at several stores to find ones that weren't opened and swatched or mashed in the lid.

The shades range from muted nudes, bright oranges and corals and even a few purple based ones. There's a shade for everyone. The finish on these aren't quite matte but they aren't super  glossy either. The application is really easy and quick with these too. They apply really creamy and most of the shades are quite opaque with one swipe. The lasting power though isn't too impressive. After only a couple of hours it fades or smeared around (especially after eating), so I'd suggest these would be good to wear for only a short while. Let's jump into swatches!

Elusive 205
The first in the line is a really pretty mauve pink. It's a cooler tone and so versatile for any skin tone. This one is super opaque and one swipe gave full color payoff.

Unapologetic 210
This is one of my favorites. It's a bright pinky coral and it reminds me of a hibiscus flower perfect for summer. This one is also very opaque and creamy and it does feather some after a while.

Shameless 215
This purple is the darkest of the shades and I'm totally loving it. It's not as opaque as some of the other shades but after a few swipes you get full color pay off. It reminds me of MAC Pure Heroine.

Showy 220
In the tube it looks like it would be a bright Fuchsia pink, but it swatches more of a bubblegum pink. It's still very pretty but it didn't last long at all on my lips.

Sultry 225
Sultry is one of the more popular shades and I can see why. It's a stunning neutral, kind of a dusty rosy shade and it's very close to MAC Velvet Teddy and I believe the s shade can be worn by anyone. This one lasted a little longer than the others.

Complex 230
This shade is a nude, warm toned shade. It was not very opaque compared to other shades. This one, personally, looks terrible on me but I think on warmer olive shin tones it would make a nice nude.

Mischievous 235
This is the lightest of the two orange shades in the line and I really like it. It wasn't that opaque so it applied more like a stain, which totally works with a bright color like orange. It's still a really fun shade for spring and summer. I think it's pretty similar to MAC Sushi Kiss.

Striking 240
If you're looking for a rusty toned lipstick, this is an awesome choice. It's a warm reddish orange and perfect for someone wanting to try a more orange hued lip. This was another opaque balm that gave you full pigmentation with one swipe. Judging by the red packaging, I was hoping for a brighter red, but it's still lovely.

Audacious 245
This is the darker of the two oranges, but still a fun bright orange. It's more melon or coral toned and I think this would be gorgeous on darker skin tones.

Standout 250
Looking at the tube unexpected a rich, true red, but this one did disappoint a little. It wasn't as opaque as the others and the red looked a little washed out. It could definitely benefit from a red liner, but it would be a good red for someone just starting out and wanting to try a red lip color.

So overall, I really like these balms. Although they aren't matte, the creaminess feels nice and moisturizing on the lips and not too heavy. For the price they are a nice product, but a few shades did disappoint. However, I will definitely be  repurchasing backups of Unapologetic and Sultry. Have any of you tried the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms? What did you think of them?

These are available at Ulta, Walmart, Target and most drugstores for $6-$9 each.
