August Favorites | Anastasia Beverly Hills, NYX, Urban Decay + More!

What happened to summer? Summer flew by and we're fast approaching fall. I can't believe its already mid-September, but better late than never i have today my August favorites! I had a few new things last month that I was using pretty much daily so please keep reading and enjoy!

It was hotter than heck last month here in San Diego, so for foundation I've been using the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation. It's a natural medium coverage and it sets really nice without feeling greasy. It lasts on me all day without getting patchy or streaky, even in the heat so this has been a must have.

For brows I've set aside the NYX Brow Gel and went back to my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Taupe. It lasts in the heat and I find it's a little easier to work with to get more natural looking brows, which I've really been digging again lately.

Another ABH product I've been loving is the Shadow Couture World Traveler palette. I wrote a review on it here, but in short, it's amazing. It has a nice blend of neutrals and pops of colors, and Morocco and Soft Peach are the perfect matte transition shades for everyday wear. I haven't set this down since I got it and I'm still not tired of it.

For my lips, I've been wearing traditional lipsticks instead of liquid lipsticks lately and two that I've been obsessed with is MAC Tropic Tonic and Urban Decay Native. Tropic Tonic is a fun orange while native is a nude, but I've really been liking them these last few weeks. Native is just a good everyday nude so I've had it in my purse when I need something throw on.

I've also fallen back in love with my Smashbox Be Legendary lip lacquers. I wrote a post on a few of the shades ages ago, and I'd just kind of forgotten about them in my drawer. The two I've been wearing are Keepsake and Coral. They're super long wearing and leave a pretty "Popsicle lips" stain as they fade off and I can't get enough on days that I've been doing lighter makeup.

Last month I needed a new mascara so I picked up the Rimmel Lift Me Up Wonder Lash mascara and it just might be my new HG drugstore mascara. It has a nice full wand and gives me long fluffy lashes. Plus it has vitamins and Moroccan Argan oil in so it conditions your lashes while you wear it. My lashes don't feel dry and clumpy with it on and it washes off pretty easily too.

For my highlight, I've been going more toned down and MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Lightscapade has been my go-to. It's so subtle and leaves a soft glow without being too much. I picked this up on a recent trip to my local Cosmetic Company Outlet and it's been well-loved since I purchased it.

I also picked up the NYX HD blush in the shade Intuition last month and it's literally been the only blush I've worn all month. It's a pretty Dusty Rose shade with subtle shimmer and though it's a little more fall appropriate, a light dusting gives my cheeks a nice natural flush. It lasted all day without wearing off so I'm definitely impressed since many drugstore blushes tend to fall flat after a few hours.

Recently while digging around in my drawers I came across my NARS Kuala Lampur eyeshadow duo and fell back in love with this baby. This has been a favorite of mine for years and this is actually my second one. The two shades go so well together with the plum blended with the more gold shade, and it's been perfect for days when I just want a little eyeshadow in without putting a whole lot of time or effort into my makeup.

Last up is a perfume. I bought this Giorgio Armani Sí perfume about a month or so ago and omg you guys... It smells sooo good. It's deeper and more sultry than I would normally prefer but it's the perfect scent for going out or when I want to feel a little more chic and sophisticated. It's such a good fall scent and I know I'll be wearing this a ton in the coming months.

Well that does it for my August favorites! Not a whole lot of new products but definitely some good ones in the bunch. What were some of your favorite or most used beauty products last month?

xoxo

June + July Favorites | L'oreal, Bobbi Brown, Tarte and More!

Hey everyone! I haven't done a favorites post in the last month or so since I wasn't really using anything different from my last post, but I've rounded up some things to show you guys, so keep reading to see which products made the cut. The last two months were all about glowing skin, neutral eyes and lips for me, perfect for summer!

First I want to talk about the L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation. Generally my skin is pretty dry so I steer clear of matte foundations, but with the hot humid weather lately my skin has been a bit more oily and this has been a god send. It literally stays matte for hours and it doesn't break up or oxidize which is amazing. I mix the shades Natural Buff and Porcelain for my perfect match.

Next up are some liquid lipsticks from the Stila Summer collection. I've been really loving liquid lipsticks lately and Stila makes some of the best in my opinion. They last forever and don't flake or clump up like some brands. They are a tad drying but nothing a little lip balm can't help. I've been loving Como, this bright purple and Amalfi, a fun fuchsia pink.

Highlighters are huge, especially this time of year, and all of June and July I've been in love with the Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators in Ballerina and Gilded Honey. I originally didn't want GH, but received it as a gift and these two mixed together create the perfect golden bronze glow. Ballerina is perfect for darker skin and with my skin being a bit more tanned, it gives a gorgeous bronze goddess glow.

Recently I made a trip to my local Cosmetics Company Outlet and found this Bobbi Brown Nude on Nude palette and I've been using it practically every day. It's a nice mix of mattes, satins  and shimmers for neutral eye looks. The shadows are smooth and blend really well and the sparkle shades are just beautiful, if a little chunky. This is a good neutral palette for both day and night looks so it's been in constant use lately.

I did some traveling last month and a staple in my makeup bag was the new Tarte Showstopper palette. It's so convenient since it has shadows, a bronzer, a blush and a highlighter all in one palette. Plus I really like the cooler toned eyeshadows and how versatile they are for different eye looks. And can we talk about the cute packaging?! I posted a sneak peak of this month's ago and I'm so glad I bought it. (Want a review? Let me know!)

Another highlighting/bronzing powder I've been dying over is this Este Lauder 5-Tone Shimmer Powder in Bronze Shimmer. This was another CCO find and I'm so glad I found it. It was released a few years ago and I missed out on it then, but this baby is gorgeous. I like how I can concentrate my brush more on the bronze shades for a warm glow, or on the golden champagne shades for more of a highlight. It can also be used for eyeshadows which makes for a nice bronze eye look.

On days when my skin felt a little dry, I was reaching for my travel sized MAC Strobe Cream. It's super hydrating and gives a luminous glow under foundation and the little bottle has been perfect for tossing in my makeup bag during my travels the last two months.

Last but not least are the Urban Decay Revolution Lip Glosses. These are super pigmented and not at all sticky and they last for hours before fading from my lips. They feel more like a cream lipstick so they're super comfortable to wear. I've really been loving Failbait, a soft pink, and Liar, a warm neutral. Let me know if you want a full review on these.

And that does it for my favorite products from June and July! What made the cut for your favorites this summer? Let me know in the comment and be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter for me updates and pics. Have an amazing day everyone!

Recent Favorites | Lorac, ABH, Nubounsom + more!

Hello again everyone! The last couple of months I did not do a monthly favorites because honestly, there weren't any specific products that I was obsessing over. I had a bunch of new stuff that I was trying out though, and I was able to narrow it down to a few things I've been loving to show you guys.

The first product is a perfume. I tend to go for lighter scents in the spring and Prada Candy has been my everyday perfume for weeks now. It's light and has a slightly sweet-slightly musky scent and I just love how fresh it smells. Plus it lasts for hours without being too overpowering.

First up for makeup is this Naked skin foundation from Urban Decay. I purchased this during my recent Ulta haul and I've been loving it these last few weeks. My skin is a lot clearer now so I've been using more sheer foundations and this one is perfect. It leaves a nice satin finish and it doesn't oxidize or break up throughout the day which is awesome.

I wrote a review on this L'oreal La Palette Nude 2 eyeshadow palette recently, and I've been really liking these different mauve shades lately. I love purples and pinks for spring and this palette has everything for light makeup days and more dramatic looks. And for only $16, its a good deal.

I have about 20 primers but the Smashbox Primer Water has blown them all out of the water (no pun intended lol). It's a refreshing mist and it leaves bare skin kind of tacky so my foundation just sticks to my face but it doesn't cling to any dry patches or sink into lines. And this stuff seriously makes my makeup last all day without budging at all.

Another palette that I haven't been able to put down is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist palette. I wrote a review on this too so I won't go on too much, but I've literally been LOVING this! I love the bright colors and it's been fun paying with new looks with this.

I've been revisiting an old favorite quite often lately and that is my NARS Deep Throat blush. It's a less shimmery version of Orgasm and it's perfect for spring. It's the prettiest coral pink shade and it just gives the most flattering natural looking flush, like I've been in the sun and I just forgot how much I love it.

Nearly every day these last few months, I've been wearing a combo of two Milani matte lipstick shades, Matte Innocence and Matte naked. The combo of the two is literally the perfect nude for my skin tone. And these lipsticks are super lightweight and creamy so it doesn't even feel like I have anything on my lips.

Also from my Ulta haul is the Lorac Cheek and Lip palette. This has been my go-to for weeks now because it's so convenient. It has four shades perfect for any makeup look and I love how I can mix the blushes together for a custom blush shade.

I've put down the Dipbrow for a while and I've gone back to using my ABH Brow Wiz in Medium Ash. I forgot how much I loved this pencil. It's so quick and easy to fill in your brows with this and still have them look natural, which is something I've been really liking lately.

Of course I had to mention these babies. Nubounsom recently came out with new 3D mink lashes and I picked up the styles Dragon Li and Bella. OMG YOU GUYS. These are simply gorgeous! They are so full and flirty and totally glam, but still super lightweight and comfy to wear. I love that I can throw these on when I'm too lazy to do anything special with my eyeshadow, and they just give my eyes so much life! MannyMua recently raved about these in a favorites video as well. Remember you can use the code "LivforLashes" for 20% off of minks and try them yourself!

The next product has been out for a while but it's new to me and it's the Sensationail Fuse Gel polish system. I recently picked up the starter kit with the shade "Elec-trick or Treat" and another shade in "Na-No Way" and I love this. It's a super quick and easy at home kit for gel polish and I really like it. It has everything tuning you need for a complete manicure including the LED cure light and it's so much faster than other gel polishes that I have in that it only takes 30 seconds to cure. Plus it's so small, it's perfect for travel or if you're in a rush.

Now that it's warming up (85+ degrees here in San Diego!) and my face is getting a little bit of color, I've been wearing more bronzer lately and I've really been enjoying this Pop Beauty bronzer that I received in my Ipsy bag last summer. It's a cooler brown and it has subtle shimmers throughout it and it just gives the most amazing glow.

The last makeup items I've been using a ton are the Revlon Colorburst Matte balms. They're just a quick to use when I'm in a rush and application is super simple. And they are such summer worthy colors that I can't resist. My favorites are Sultry, Unapologetic and Shameless. I did a full swatch and review of all ten shades recently if you want to check that out.

That does it for my monthly favorites! See any products that you love? Which products have been your favorite lately? Anything new I should try?

April Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Today I have another Ipsy glam bag review for you! This one is a review on the April bag, which I just received on Friday. So shipping is definitely way off this past month, since i generally receive my bags around the 12th or 13th. The theme for April was #BeautifullyBohemian, inspired by spring music festivals and warmer weather.

The bag itself is pretty cute. It's a weaved straw bag with interlacing colors and it really says "boho" by the style. It's a nice sturdy little bag and I'm sure I'll find a good use for it.

The first product I pulled out was this Hikari Blush is the shade "Tango." This is a brand I've never heard of until I subscribed to Ipsy, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with this blush though. It looks like a super neon pink in the pan, but it blends out into the prettiest pink flush on the cheeks. I also like how it can be built it into a deeper blush.

Next up is a lipstick from KCO Colors. I don't know the name since the sticker came off, but I already love it. It's a brownish pink color, almost like a creamier version of Velvet Teddy. The pigmentation is great but it didn't really last too long without fading off.

The next product is an eyeshadow single from the new Nude Dude palette from the Balm in the shade "Flirty." I love he Balm and this palette is on my wish list so I'm glad that I got this sample to try out. It's a really pretty iridescent beige-purple and I can totally see myself wearing this color.

Usually I'm not impressed with perfume samples from Ipsy, but this mini Jorel Parker Femina perfume is really nice. Is a very subtle fresh scent and the size makes it perfect for travel. It also lasted a long time without being too overpowering.

The last product came with a broken seam and it spilled all over the bag, so I was disappointed that I couldn't try it. It was a sample of Lather Ultra Light Face Lotion. It had a light scent and it's supposed to be quite moisturizing, but again, I wasn't able to try it.

Overall, this month (or last month rather) had some good products aside from the moisturizer. I'm excited to see what May's glam Bag brings and in hoping shipping won't take as long, since that's quite disappointing.
What products did you receive in April from Ipsy?
